JULY 4TH PARADE FAIRBORN

It was a hot one, a real scorcher, and some members of the G & G gang were already panting well before the parade marshall pointed as us and said "go!"  But we braced ourselves and headed out gamely onto the street.

The crowd seemed to me to me to be smaller than in years past, but then anyone with half an ounce of sense was indoors somewhere relaxing with a cold drink.  Thank goodness there isn't a half-ounce of sense to be shared by the entire G&G gaggle!

If you missed the fun, well shame on you!  Here are some photos to document the great time we had.  Note that all the photos were taken at the beginning of the parade.  None of the photos of G&G clowns taken at the end of the parade are in any way printable!

(Above)  G&G clowns pose with America's favorite clown, Ronald McDonald.  From left to right, that's Marty doing his best to look like the Hamburglar, Alto surprised to find that there are no fries in Ronald's back pocket, Ron, and Mickey looking like he stopped for a half-dozen quarter-pounders on the way to the parade!

(Above) Here's the entire G&G contingent who decided to brave the scorching afternoon parade.

(Below)  The G&G gang members with wheels prepare to try to set a new record for the time required to cover the parade route in Fairborn.  Passers-by described it as the start of the "Idiot 500."  (OK, no passers-by said anything like that; I just made it up when I was captioning the photos.)

(Below)  This year the G&G parade wagon/float/ambulance was a new Cadillac SRX, a marvelous excuse for a car that consumed well over 60 gallons of gas during the parade alone!

WHEELS!

The authorities prohibit the G&G members from owning or operating any serious motorized equipment, but that hasn't stopped the clowns from doing the best they can with what they are allowed.  Take a look!
