NEW CARLISLE HERITAGE OF FLIGHT PARADE 2011

            The New Carlisle Heritage of Flight parade was held on Saturday morning, October 1, 2011, and it was very, very cold.  Unseasonably cold weather produced a thermometer reading of about 45 degrees at parade time and a strong and steady breeze delivered a wind chill reading even lower.

            Just four Giggles & Grins joeys were on hand for the suffering, CAREFUL, GOOD GRIEF, CLARE, and MICKEY.  BOOF and SCOOTER were also on hand but were with the Dayton Speedway Lives! unit that followed the G&G unit in the parade.

            (Above) CAREFUL and MICKEY appear to be having a wonderful time, but the photo was taken while both still had full use of their extremeties.

            (Below)  CLARE and GOOD GRIEF discovered that they were frozen to their plastic chairs at the end of the parade.

            (Above) MICKEY proudly shows off the G&G banner and, because of the cold, was frozen in this position for better than 15 minutes.

            (Below)  CAREFUL struggles to open his mouth after the weather caused his jaw to lock.

            (Above) SCOOTER proves that the acorn doesn't fall very far from the tree as she mimics daddy MICKEY.

            (Below) BOOF gives SCOOTER a good luck smoochie before the start of the parade.  Emergency workers needed a crowbar to pry BOOF's frozen lips from SCOOTER's cheek.
