HERE'S WHAT YOU MISSED AT THE AUGUST MEETING
Our August meeting featured veteran clown Arte DIPSTICK Williams and his sidekick (and fiance) Ding-A-Ling. Arte has had a long clowning career but spent the past 22 years as a corporate clown for a certain hamburger chain. Arte described it as the best gig he'd ever had or perhaps would ever have.

(Above) Ding-A-Ling and Dipstick strike a happy pose during the August meeting.
(Below) Arte's tales of corporate clowning kept the alley joeys' attention throughout his presentation.

(Above) Boss Clown Careful and Mr. Funny Bones did their best to teach some new balloon bends during the jam that preceded the start of the meeting.
(Below) Here's Careful and Dipstick after a successful meeting. No, Careful is not suffering some sort of seizure. He's just being, well, himself.

HERE'S WHAT YOU MISSED AT THE JUNE MEETING
FOLLY and PLUCKY were fortunate enough to get to attend the World Clown Association convention in New York City recently and they were kind enough to share their adventures with us at the June meeting. WCA conventions over the next three or four years will be held, literally, all over the world so Folly and Plucky consider themselves lucky to have been able to attend the one convention within travel distance of home.

(Above) FOLLY and PLUCKY were happy to share the story of two country clowns visiting the Big Apple.
(Below) MARTY and PATCH seem surprised to be caught on camera yukking it up at the June meeting. Both are members of a Native American tribe that believes that a camera steals your soul.

(Below) Giggles & Grins joeys display varying degrees of excitement as the start of the meeting draws near.

HERE'S WHAT YOU MISSED AT THE MAY MEETING
Our special guest at the May meeting was Mike Hemmelgarn who has been entertaining as a juggler and ventriloquist for many years across the Miami Valley. Mike demonstrated his unique juggling skills and introduced the Giggles & Grins clowns to some of his puppet friends.
It was a great time! Our thanks to Mike for an interesting and informative session. We look forward to having Mike back again soon!

(Above) Mike showed that in three-ball juggling the third ball sometimes just watches the other two.
(Below) As it turns out, you don't need a puppet to demonstrate your ventriloquist skills. All you need are two simple alley members who can open their mouths when tapped on the shoulder!

HERE'S WHAT YOU MISSED AT THE APRIL MEETING!
What a great night! It all started with MR. FUNNY BONES' struggle to teach our joeys a new balloon bend. Once again MR. FUNNY BONES showed great patience and never once actually struck any of the slow learners, at least with his hand.
Our thanks to MR. FUNNY BONES and to SPARKLELEE who put together the evening's Storytelling workshop. Thanks also to clowns LULLABELLE, ZILCHO, ALTO, and MICKEY who headed up Storytelling segments.

(Left) MR. FUNNY BONES shows great optimism as he prepares to teach the latest bend.
(Above and below) Our Boss Clown, CAREFUL, struggles with trying to decide which is his right and which is his left, and what comes next, complaining bitterly that it still doesn't look like a monkey in a palm tree.

(Above) PATCH and GOOD GRIEF have a good laugh while watching CAREFUL's attempt to master the latest balloon bend.
(Below) PLUCKY (left) plays the part of the "Cool Wolf" to MR FUNNY BONES' "Little Piggy" (right) while LULLABELLE tells the story of Piggy's search for a wolf-proof residence.
